Last week while strolling down the Puerto Vallarta Malecon I realized something interesting about a tourist. He lacked that predictable smell of Sunblock, the high socks and fanny pack- he also had some scars on his leg. Asking him how he got them; his wife, being Mexican herself said he’s “learning the Mexican way”. Acknowledging her husband’s bravery she said they moved here recently and he’s the adventure type.

Here in Fluvial Vallarta we are getting settled in on paperwork for Real Estate in Puerto Vallarta2012, getting our houses for sale in Fluvial and closing papers on the most recent property sale. We are set to look at next year with eyes of enthusiasm. But starting the new year seems frightening… Not because it’s 2012 supposedly the end of the world! More because we ask “what will be of me tomorrow?”

• Who am I today?

Having a clear sight on what you want to achieve TODAY is most important. When you are doing things the right way you know you are on the “right way”. Javier Rodriguez, our “Jefe” here at Sol y Luna mentioned that he got his success by “seeing who I would be tomorrow, by seeing who I am today”. Be good for yourself, do things right for yourself and you will be good and in the right later on- he added.

• Who will I be tomorrow?

Are you a grown up? Have you grown out of things like playing or dreaming? Why does that matter? Your childhood dreams, for example being a cowboy or a superhero may very well define what type of person you will be. “Happyness” (from the movie “The pursuit of happyness“) is deserving to Strong people, those who despite trials and errors in this life keep those dreams intact. As hard as it may be, still conserve those dreams close to your heart because they are who you still are deep down inside. What you do today defines what you will be doing in the future. Want to see yourself in the future? Look in the mirror today.

• Who do I want to be?

I heard from a friend who is a computer technician: “I wanted to be considered as a Computer Doctor, so I wore a white robe every day at work and talked about computers as if they were patients with “symptoms, allergies and remedies”. People started to call me Doctor!”. He wanted to be something, be “someone”. He lived each day as if he already was, doing what he knew best. Joy followed as he reached his goal.
